Hello All -
The exercises that I really enjoyed is the Journey On exercise and the Meeting Asciepius. I feel as though these two exercises are very beneficial, at least beneficial to me.
The Journey On exercise really relaxed me and I felt calm with no worries. And as some of you know, the exercise really helped my 6 year old son out as well. Two minutes into the exercise and he was out. The Meeting Asciepius exercise was also great.
I'm thinking that I might find practices such as these two to help me through out the rest of my life. Luckily we have our books to help guide us and help us find resources. I have been going to Yoga and Pilates now for about a month. These two exercise are mixed with both and I have really enjoyed them.

I agree with you, these exercises like Meeting Asclepius will really help us if we continue to use them. Like anything else we have to practice what we preach or we are ineffective to help those around us.
ReplyDeleteBeing a mom is the most important job in the world. Enjoy your years at home. I miss them a lot!
I agree with you onthe benefits of the Meeting Asciepius exercise - I thought it was great. I almost selected the Journey On exercise as my second one. I hadn't thought to try it with the kids - I will do that. They get so crazy wound up sometimes - I try to tell them to calm down and relax, but maybe a formal meditation will help them with it.

Hi Casey,
ReplyDeleteGreat that you having been trying yoga and pilates! I was so impressed with the health benefits of yoga in the studies I read. I was planning to head out to my first yoga class after our seminar last week but life got in the way. Hopefully I'll get there this week.
It sounds like a lot of liked the Meeting Asciepius exercise. It was my favorite too. What was interesting to me was the different ways we all went about it.

CBARRENT,
ReplyDeleteI think having someone speak the instructions on a meditation exercise. I wish you continued success in your quest for peace!
We are all capable to turn ourselves around and get back on track. I think it's simply a mindset and we can 'fall off the wagon' so to speak.
I hope you have continued forward progress in your "studies"!
Have a wonderful week!
Michelle
Hello Casey,
ReplyDeleteThe exercises are definitely great for mental fitness training. Both of those exercises will work for me. They help me to realize that my health and well being depends on these practices and also that I am my healer.
I encourage everyone to make sure to always use a quiet area as much possible even in our daily affairs. Being mindful helps us to be proactive instead of reactive. The exercises will definitely work for my clientele because they need to learn that they are their own healers. It will definitely cause them to be more relaxed.
Isn’t it wonderful to know that your son was out after two minutes? I always use relaxation music in early childhood education, and stress the health benefit of it to parents. Continue to feel calm with no worries as you do your mental fitness exercises.
I commend you for tackling yoga AND pilates! I have tried them before, but never had the proper mental states, so I found them boring. I will definitely look into trying these again since I have been working on clearing my mind. I wish you continued success with using your mental exercises and hope your body and mind flourish through physical and mental workouts.
